The Role of Arun Volunteer Centre

The Volunteer Centre is responsible for advising on a whole variety of vacancies, helping people match their interest to the volunteering that exists. The centre is run by Derek Moore (pictured above).

Arun Volunteer Centre is responsible for:

  • Recruiting volunteers – we provide volunteers for many voluntary, community and statutory sector organisations.
  • Public recognition – we promote the role of the Volunteer by ensuring contribution is recognised, publicised and valued.
  • Addressing local needs – we liaise and work in partnership with local businesses and Health Authorities as well as with other voluntary organisations, community groups, to help support voluntary activities.
  • Supporting volunteers and the community – we offer advice, guidance to both volunteers and voluntary statutory agencies.
  • An open door policy – the Voluntary Point is run on an open door to show what’s available. We strive to ensure that volunteering is an option.

The venue for the second day is at the Regis Centre, Belmont Street, Bognor Regis on Thursday 7th June 2012  between 10am and 4pm.

Access to both venues will be from 9.30am.

We will be contacting registered volunteers to invite them to either day to be presented with a certificate, however, the days will be run as ‘open house’ events so that anyone can call in, have a cup of tea and cake and chat with those of you who are able to attend. As the venues are not particularly large other organisations will be contacted and we will be happy to hand out leaflets etc. on their behalf, they will also be invited to attend as ‘walk-in guests’ with any volunteers they wish to bring along.
