Counselling Manager
Part time, 15 hours per week, 0.4wte
Required for September or earlier
Salary £10,400 p.a. (full time equivalent £26,000 p.a.)
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with experience in counselling and preferably supervision to manage our Counselling Service and provide the clinical lead to our team of paid and volunteer staff. As a member of our small management team you will play a key part in developing the strategy and growth of the Service, liaising with external agencies and developing partnerships.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the day to day operation and smooth running of the Service. You will have line management responsibility for the clinical team including Counsellors, Assessors and Supervisors. Some of our students undertake client counselling and there will be a need to ensure activities comply with statutory regulations and meet quality standards.
The post holder will need to have a relevant professional counselling qualification, preferably with accreditation with a professional body such as UKCP, BACP or other well-recognised therapeutic bodies, and be familiar with psychodynamic concepts.
We are a well-established provider of counsellor training and you will have the opportunity to contribute to the internal training and development activities to ensure counsellors are ready to practice. An understanding of and interest in training would be an advantage as we develop our training and counselling services in the future.
We operate week days from 0900 to 2100 and the ability to work with some flexibility would be an advantage.
